Buying Avensis Wagon Ver. Sol, 2009, 125Kkm

Hello :)

I'm newbie to this forum :) I currently live in Switzerland and I'm going to buy a used Avensis Estate 2009 with 125kkm on the clock. The dealer promised to prepare the car in details and then run it through their equivalent of Irish NCT (it is even stricter than the Irish one!).

My question is: if this model has a timing chain, should he change the water pump? In my previous car it was done along with the timing belt....

Also, I understand that engines (this one is 2d-FTV D-CAT version) after Feb. 2009 are less likely to develop the dreaded gasket problem - am I right?

What else should I ask the dealer before I commit?

ps. all works done in garages in Switzerland are insanely expensive so the dealer should do as much as it is possible (or required) before handing over the keys.

Thanks for help!!

Jakub

Well...Bought it and it is great!

Only one thing, the user manual is german. Anyone knows where to get the manual in english for this model?

Thanks!

Ps. http://www.toyota-tech.eu - they don't have it.
https://customerportal.toyota-europe.com - they don't have it neither...

you should be able to order it via dealer if you don't mind paying for it.

Alternatively, tried eBay?
