went to open my boot today, the bl**dy handle has fallen off. (highlighted in red)

its held in by 5 nuts and studs and one clip.

the plastic has broken where the studs are affixed too.

is there a temp fix? maybe some kind of glue.

I would use two-part epoxy putty. It bonds well to relatively smooth surfaces and should do the trick. Tape the handle in place while it hardens.

Bought a new one myself, 60 quid but will keep the car right for another few years. Dont want mine rubbing on the boot and causing rust

Can you write here the part number of the tailgate handle? I drive a 2007 Avensis hatchback.

Thanks a lot!

I think you have to be able to remove the handle to replace the number plate bulbs. Obviously not easy if it is glued in place.

Nah you dont ..did both bulbs yesterday

I did have to remove the boot trim and the surround that goes over the two number plate lights 5/6 10mms just unplug the boot switch wire you dont have to remove it

Mind the post is 10years old so he prob got one by now lol

The bulbs for the plate lights are serviceable by prising open the rear boot inner compartments to access.. I noticed my tailgate handle was loose. The nuts can work loose on the inside. Just needs tightening. I can't imagine glue holding up the force needed to operate the tailgate.
