2005 Satnav Help

Hi,

I recently purchased a rav xt5 on a 55 plate.

For some reason the SatNav will come on and work for around 1 minute and all of a sudden say the dsic cannot be read. I test the disc on my home PC and there are no bad sectors but unable to test the DVD drive in the car.

Everything else works on the unit from what I can tell.

Any advice on possible things to check before I go and purchase an aftermarket unit at great cost.

Anyone local to birmingham have a disc I could possibly try one evening ?

cleaned the laser?

Having said that satnavs have moved on a lot in 10 years so spending £100-150 on a Garmin/TomTom may not be a bad idea. ;)

How do I go about cleaning the laser please. I already own a Tomtom but would like the functionality of the one in the car in possible.

failing that you my have to disassemble the unit.
