Loss Of Power/engine Management Light Flashing

Hi,

Firstly sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I was driving to a friends when I noticed a slight loss of power when accelerating, also when in neutral the car is below usual revs as if it's going to stall.

About 5 minutes later the engine management light began flashing, I turned the car around and came home.

Any ideas as to what this could be? It's a 2001 7th gen celica, around 108k on the clock, I've had it since 95 with no real issues.

Also for the time being would this still be safe to drive?

Thanks.

Welcome... be worth getting a code read done given you have an EML light....see if there's anything logged.

Could be the MAF needs a clean..or a failing coil pack/plug.?

I assume you mean you've had the car since '05.?.

Yes, my friend has an OBD2 reader and it came up with a fault in cylinder 3 so changed the plugs and no change so then pulled coil out (whilst engine running) on number 3 and no change which meant the coil was faulty so got a 2nd hand one sent today and voila....fixed :)
