Vitz (Yaris)

Hello from North Cyprus.

Just bought a nice 2011 Vitz (The Yaris in the UK). Only done 20.000K It's a grey import from Japan and of course all the manuals are in Japanese. So can anyone tell me what the B is for on the gear change panel. I assume the S next to the D is Sports Mode.

The panel reads.

P

R

N

D-S

B

Cheers, Bill.

"B" = (engine) Brake for use when going down long steep hills. Also provides regenerative braking in the process... (not intended for prolonged use...)

Hi Colin. Thanks for that. Sounds interesting as we have to go over the mountain here quite a bit.

Hi again Colin. Do you know how to disable the !Removed! annoying beeping when the Vitz is in reverse.

Cheers.

Hi Bill, sorry but since that feature is not standard on our cars in the UK, I have no idea on that one but I suspect you'd need to have access to an OBDII adaptor and laptop with Toyota Techstream on it to access the relevant ECU (as I have done on mine to turn the annoying seat belt warning beeper off!)

Hi Colin. Thanks again, think i will take to the garage i bought it from. And ask them to disable it. Don't mind the Seat Belt beep. but the reverse bleep is very annoying. Can't seem to think why you need it anyway.

Cheers.

Bill.
