2.0Vvti 53Reg T4 Lack Of Power And Missfire

Hello all

Im a newbie to the avensis and my car is due for a service, which im going to do myself over a weekend, (oil and filter change, pollen filter, air filter, spark plugs)

Firstly is there anything else i should check or change whilst i got the spanners out?

Secondly ever since we got it its been underpowered, could this be down to old plugs and filters? No warning lights on dash and starts first time everytime, just when driving when cold seems a bit lumpy and miss fire not constant just every now and then, and once warmed up the miss fire stops but theres no power behind it. Any ideas be much appreciated

Sorry if in wrong section

Thanks

Jon

could be plugs/air filter.

before you take plugs check the coils, they should bring a up error code, i suppose it wont hurt to check

loosen the bolts on top of the coils, lift each one out slowly, if the tone of the engine does not change that would normally indicate the coils are ok.

I would clean maf sensor with contact cleaner too.
