If ya get Hello and Bye Bye - make sure the Hello is written in mirror wording (i.e. backwards) so that people can read it in their mirror. :)

As for knightrider - if you bought a sunstrip to block out the sun... isnt that a waste of money in itself? - i think the car comes with sun visors as standard! :P

I think it is illegal to remove your rear view mirror!!

Especailly if the car came with one, ie built after a certain date!

AFAIK you need 2 rear viewing devices for legal purposes. Door/wing mirrors are OK for this. (rear view is no good anyway if you're towing a caravan/horsebox/spaceship etc. )

Would like confirmation on this though.....so don't just take my word for it.

MOT checklist - section 6

Driver's view of the road, horn, exhaust system, exhaust emissions, vehicle condition, wing and rear view mirrors, fuel system registration plates and VIN numbers.

Any missing or sunstandard will fail, unless the MOT'er is shady

height range on the glass id 290mm, so anything higher is ok

what about vans and trucks where its impossible t use a rear view mirror!

That's what the 2 rear facing mirrors thing is supposed to cover.

Otherwise there would be no HGVs or bigger vans on the road.

i know that, i was just making the point of it

unless thats only in specific cicumstances that a lack of rear vire mirror is acceptable

not sure. I just got that bit of an governmental website.

I used to drive the vivaro a lot at vx, which had a solid door, so no mirror.

Would imagine that if the car can take a mirror, it needs to have one on.

However, im not sure.

Only way to find out is for someone to go through the giant book of highway legislation :!Removed!:
