High Level Brake Light

good afternoon all i took my avensis for mot yesterday it passed ok but i was told that high level brake light is not working does this run off of a seperate fuse from main brake lights?can somebody also please tell me if bulbs can be replaced and what sort size ect from what i can gather its a unit only buy for toyota but hope i can just replace bulbs if its not a fuse thanks in advance

What year is your Avensis? is it a hatchback, saloon or tourer?

hi there i thought id go and have a look and found a panel to remove on tailgate avensis t2 2004 and it turns out its just a bulb change thank you for replt cheers

Hi Dave,

My dads 08 TR estate has a failed high level brake light. Was yours the estate, how did you get to the light can you advise please? Is it a sealed LED unit or are there bulbs that can be replaced?

this might not help but hopefully it may be similar.

On my hatchback I open the tailgate and pop off the plastic access hole and twist the bulb holder and then I can access to change the bulb, pictures will give you a little understanding.
