Hi all,

I am going to look at a 08 3l manual hilux with 72k on the clock, I am wondering if there are any particular things I should be looking for apart from the obvious?

many thanks for your input

Some 07 3.0 d4d models had injector seal washer leaks, leading to combustion leakage into lubrication system, oil contamination, oil pickup strainer blockage, engine oil starvation and ultimate engine failure, so check if yours is either the later unaffected model or has had the copper injectors seals replaced if it isn`t.

Check the VIN code with Toyota to see if it already has the updated injectors and seals and do a bit googling :D

Keep things in perspective, it only affected a relatively small number and most would`ve been uprated by Toyota anyway, if it sounds ok it probably is ok.

The Hilux is by far the best you can buy, the reliability is legendary for good reason.

The affected trucks where recalled by Toyota as you have been on the recall checker and there was nothing outstanding the truck was either not affected or has already been recalled and repaired.
