Painted Wing Mirror Cover, Small Lip & Clean Rear

This weekend i made a few changes to my IQ.

And i'm very please with the result:

Well Gomoca, I can see why you are pleased with the result. I like what you have done and that colour suits the Amethyst very well. I say that as our car is also that colour. The 'bib' in grey carbon look is good too. I think if I had done it, it would not look that good. The clear rear suits it too, and it has to be much easier to clean. How did you do the rear lights? They look very good as the lines separate the light sections well. It looks very professional, great job.

Regarding to the rear lights, i've done nothing, they are only clean... :)

They are original from Toyota.

Looks good. Couple of questions. 1. How did you remove rear badges? 2. Do the door mirror covers come off easy as im thinking of getting my white ones wrapped in material the same colour & texture black as the door surround and vertical B pillar part of door.

(1)With an hairdryer and (2) the mirror cover is removed by grabbing an edge and pulling. There are no screws or bolts holding the painted cover onto the mirror housing.

You can loose quite a few tabs by this method and if your thinking of re-fitting it can be a real problem. If removing and discarding then no problem

For me it was easy to take them out.

Do that slowly with no rush.

Thanks for the info. Can you explain a bit more on Badge removal. How did you get rid of sticky stuff left behind and is all trace of the TOYOTA Badge removed from paint once done. I don't want to make a hash of it. Any tips greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can use fishing line nylon and slip behind the Badge and slice through the adhesive like a cheese wire and you can use a can of label remover from Maplin's

Or someone may have a better idea

You can use polishing mass. It works very well.
