I've just been quoted between 250 and 350 quid for a replacement for my 1998 2.0 GLS estate. Any better offers out there?

That sounds about right - I would also ensure that the drive shaft seals are replaced at the same time. This will add a further £30 or so but shouldn't increase the labour charge.

In my own vast, detailed and bitter experience, steer well clear of señor clutch. They'll be the cheapest for a very, very good reason. Any warranty is all but unusable, and the parts aren't great.

I've been quoted £350 for mine which is a LUK (high quality) part, and will be doing this early next year.
