Rear Spring Hanger Bushes

A quick post to help others with noise from the rear suspension of my Hilux (2002). We have quite a few dirt roads over here so noises from the rear suspension stand out. My pickup had been noisy for a while but this week got dramatically worse. If we went over bumps which seemed to twist the rear axle there was a loud banging noise which almost had a "boing" ring to it. Had it checked out and the rear spring hanger bushes had disintegrated. They were yellow in colour and apparently Toyota have a modified white bush which lasts longer. Quite a quick job, the two lads here had the job finished in 20 minutes. It has made such a difference - no noise what so ever.

(I have posted a picture of one of the old bushes - this was the "best" one, all the rest had gone to crumbs).
