59 Plate Iq Keyless Start Problem

Recently since the weather has been colder my key fob has not been working with the car properly.

I have tried both key fobs and niether operate the entry and ignition system properly so I assume the problem is not with the fobs but with the car.

If you tried locking and unlocking enough times you could get in and start the car.

Today there has been a hard frost and I had to enter the car using the key in the fob, but this set off the alarm and the key fob would not stop it sounding or operate the ignition to make the car start.

I am hoping if the weather gets warmer through the day I may get it started.

Has anyone else had this problem and managed to solve it.

I had similar problems when I first got my IQ, albeit that was back in the summer. New batteries in both fobs sorted things out, so I don't reckon it's weather related at all.

Also place the fob up against the start button so it can transpond and you can silence the alarm and start the car by pressing the start button with the fob next to it. This can be done with dead fob Battery or even no Battery in it

Thank you for your help it was the batteries.

Both must have been of a similar age and have failed at the same time.

I shall now keep spares as these are different to my other car.
