New Toyota Owner From Uk

Hi All,

New Toyota owner from Birmingham, UK. Passed my test 1 month ago and i have already been sold 2 cars that had to be scrapped as cambelt broke on one after 2 weeks (Renault) and head gasket went on another (Rover). Luckily i got the rover from a dealer so was able to get a refund, not so much so with the Renault! Anyway, got my 3rd car now (3rd time lucky!) and it is a Toyota Yaris.

Already love the car and its digital display, nippy for what i need and great on fuel. Only drive 6 miles each way to work and odd shopping trips with the wife. After having a snapped cambelt i found out the Yaris has a chain so i was sold on reliability and no rubber cambelt!

Only problem i am having is a super crackly fm radio signal. AM is fine, easy fix when i install a new stereo. Dont carry tapes any more haha.

Anyway, i will be about and asking questions. Lets hope i have no more major problems with cars for a while! :)

Thanks all, i was ready to give up but the Yaris has got the excitement back. Get my 1 year no claims and save to upgrade to a t sport :)

Yeah, the Mk1 is a great car. IMHO one of the best cars Toyota has made. Cheap to run, cheap to service, virtually bullet proof mechanically and electrically as long as it's looked after, far more fun to drive than they have any right to be :D. I personally think they're better than the Mk2 and Mk3 as well, but I might be a wee bit biased :P
