Oil Filter?

Alright people just a quick question. Asked me old chap get me some oil and an oil filter for my car when he went to Halfords the other day. Now he came back with the oil filter which says it fits starlet 1.3 2e-lu(5/87onwards). Will this fit my 1997/98 starlet 1.3i Sportif ep91?Or am i gonna have ta go change it? Cheers people

ok mate i aint 100% sure but the engine numbers are different the filter uve got 2e-lu and the one u need is for the 4e-fe but since its is engine oil filter and something serious can go wrong if it aint right i would take it back and get it checked out. jus to be on the safe side!!

mate most toyotas from 1983 to about 1998 upto 1.6 engine use the same oil filter, my paseo is the same as my old carina and the same as my 4efestarlet and also the same as corolla, id be very suprised if its different, if it fits its probably the right one, dont really think u could do any damage unless it leaks

cheers lads i will go see some people tomorrow. i just dont wanna take all me oil out and find its the wrong filter.
