Auris TS Hybrid Icon plus has;

Automatic Air-conditioning, according to the PMG, air-con systems on the Auris feature a blower customisation
(Blower customization control that allows occupants to adjust the air flow according to conditions or
preferences while maintaining the automatic status has been incorporated to the system.
(Automatic air conditioning systems only)
> Air flow of auto mode can be adjusted to three different levels of “MEDIUM”, “SOFT”, and
“FAST” by operating the “FAST/SOFT” switch on the heater control panel.
> “FAST” control is suited for situations such as when the user wants to quickly stabilize the
cabin temperature or when there are passengers in the rear seat.
> “SOFT” control is suited for situations such as when the air flow in auto mode feels disturbing
because it is too strong.
> When automatic control is used, the display of the heater control panel switches to a simple
display without the air outlet mode or blow level display at all times.)

The Auris TS Hybrid Excel does benefit from Dual-zone air-conditioning which is superior to Automatic Air conditioning therefore they might want to look at the Excel grade if it is the air-con they care about most.

Both Icon plus and Excel have driver and passenger heated seats too.

I informed my dealer, to register a complaint that the heater in this vehicle is not fit for purpose.

OK - but presumably we don't know the wording of the complaint or question raised by the dealer.

It seems to me that the dealer must have compared the heating in the Excel to the Icon Plus, and in the form of a question rather than a complaint. The person responding doesn't seem to be aware that it is a 'complaint' coming from an existing owner. The response seems to be aimed at someone who is considering the purchase of either an Icon Plus or an Excel, as it attempts to describe how the system operates - not too successfully in my opinion.

In my opinion, without knowing what was asked, it is difficult to comment on how the response answers the complaint, question, or whatever it was.

Hiya Devon, it seems to take forever to warm up, the rear passenger's have no heat trunked to the rear, and i suspect the temperature is way out. There is a thread on here, other owners have said the same, sorry can't link you, message sent from my phone, in my previous priui i set the air con to 22 and it stayed like that pretty much all year round, it feels like the thermostat is not working.

I must admit I'd be shocked to buy any car for £20k plus (or even £15k) and find it had key things missing, like ventilation vents to the rear seats. Also things like boot light, glove box light, heated mirrors, and these days auto folding mirrors.

If I bought an £8,000 basic Aygo I'd not be surprised to miss a few of these things, but not on a more expensive car.
