Ive looked on good old you tube and seen steps to take dash to bits but again was wondering has anybody changed stereo for upgrade? pics?

Happy new year to you.

I changed my stereo on the D4D XTR a couple of months ago. I bought this head unit from eBay

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/161500601852?nav=SEARCH

The stereo was easy to install. Pretty much just plug and play. The sat nav antenna fits nicely under the dash out of the way.

The only issue I still have is getting the reverse camera to automatically switch on when car is in reverse. As soon as I attach the switch wire to the reverse light it loses all signal . I can still use this by manually selecting the dvr cam from the head unit though.

Definitely worth the £ and work though

Mine fitted the 2005 version perfectly. Looking at the one you are thinking of buying im guessing its for a later model.

Buying from china can sometimes be iffy but even if you buy from UK I'll bet it was made in china anyway. I was told to make sure the navigation software is genuine as fakes often crash

Hi. I have connected this one:) Icartech S700 - RAV4, Its a little bit expensive, but I think it's worth it. This is German quality. This can fit all on-board equipment, like DAB+, SWC, camera - its a android device - no need to cut wires - just plug and play.

This was a big upgrade from the standard sat nav - b9004. So I say, get Android in you Toyota:)

I currently have the B9004 in my 2011 Rav4.

Was your replacement really a straight swap and just plug and go and no wires to cut etc and was everything supplied ?

Does the steering wheel controls work everything and did your car have a HDD hardrive and if so, does it still work.

I'd probably go for this if I lost no functions at all from the B9004 unit.

Thanks

Bobby

Hi Peter sorry bad news had to scrap whole idea of an android device in 4.3 Rav got stereo delivered looked the business nice size screen and colour changeable lights to match rest of lights in dash ,all the usual bells and whistles but when the double din facia replacement arrived the problems started to mount up, stereo would fall straight through facia mount and when i put surround on face of stereo it was too large to fit into facia...? i would have had to modify surround of stereo due to the curved nature of dash etc... too much like destroying a perfectly good interior and fitting something i would never have been happy with. I have instead decided to leave well alone but not to put you off i think there are far better installs available but be aware of size differences and shapes of dash and to answer your question of camera alas no but i think the wireless option would be worth looking at as to save running wires all through car but again some good cameras that retro fit into existing lights for number plate and give a colour and frame on screen just make sure head unit and camera are compatible... GOOD LUCK remember black to black red to red and blue to bits!!!!!!

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ............
