Rhd To Lhd Headlight Issues

I'll keep it short and sweet.

I have an 06 Avensis estate facelift model

due to work I am now in Germany and had to change the headlights to Continental LHD ones. But the ones I got are prefacelift and the wiring is different.

does anyone know of a simple plug and play harness, or is it a matter of snipping the cables and bodging it?

I thought the headlights were different on the facelift?

They are the same shape but the wiring at the back is different..

Before you snip or alter any wiring on the headlamp, you better do a test fit!

As Alan stated about the face lift being different, they may not fit at all hence the different connections. The shape and mounting points could be altered.

Yeah I will do this. Im trying to source a set of LHD facelift ones, but its proving quite difficult

Its european lights I need, ie, for left hand drive

Have you searched the equivalent in Europe? Perhaps you can ask Eurocarparts/Carparts4less who their suppliers are. Most of the parts left and right hand, come from the same source. Yes UK/Ireland will have the right hand versions, but the manufacturers sell the same parts in Europe for left hand drive markets.

What I would do is look at the make of Eurocarparts headlights, contact the manufacturer and ask for a list of suppliers of the left hand drive versions. Also go to Japan parts EU or ToyoDIY and using your chassis model number, you can get the part number by changing from right to left hand. That info will assist in getting the correct lights for your car.
