Hi there,

Can anyone tell me what is required for the 10 year service on a petrol XT5 please.

Car is currently on 84k.

Just trying to price the parts up before going to Toyota for a quote to weigh up my options.

Many thanks,

Joel

Probably be a full service plus brake fluid change plus (if coolant is the pink Toyota super longlife coolant) coolant change. First change for the pink super long life coolant is 10 years/100,000 miles, and then every 5 years/50,000 miles.

Agree with the antifreeze (did that on 10 year old Yaris and changed EVERY fluid..

Brake, clutch (same reservoir on Yaris but has to be bled separately) , power steering (if not electric), all oils including gearbox and axles, clean all breathers (especially axles), renew auxiliary belt if original, cambelt (if fitted) ..

Check exhaust, tyres, replace spare wheel tyre if original , wiper rubbers etc..

Check all rubber exhaust hangars..they perish.

Check all suspension bushes very carefully with a lever to check for play.

Basically a very thorough test of all rubber parts which move or protect moving parts...

Thanks both, managed to find the actual list on the website after having a proper look. They list alot of things that they check but looks like its just the standard stuff they actually change.

Booked in anways so shall see what happens :)

Well following on from this service it seems that the car isnt in the best of conditions despite it being sold with FULL service history :(

Broken rear suspension spring

Rear hub plates loose due to corrosion - apparently need replacing

Now, I knew the rear discs and pads where a little rusty but this is apperently a "common" trait of these cars so it didnt put me off.

Total cost to put the above right is £1500 by totyota !!!

Seems very expensive but I suspect alot of that is labour costs.

Has anyone got an idea of the cost to hub plates / hub assembly as couldnt find them on ECP.

Regards,

Joel

If you send Parts King a personal message, detailing your car (reg no, etc) and what you want, he'll give you a price. For Parts King go to the Community page, scroll down to Sponsor's Corner and then to Lindop Toyota.
