Touch 2 And Go Plus

Hi all

Is anyone aware of what is needed to be done to upgrade the Toyota Touch and Go to the Plus version. I am picking up my new 2015 Prius+ Excel Plus next week and have asked for the upgrade but the dealer is still not aware of what needs to be done.

I am assuming its a dealer fit upgrade as the main system is already Touch 2 with Go...

Any help would be appreciated.

Hiya personally i wouldn't bother i have it, your correct it is a dealer fit, what do you want it to do?

Hi. Wanted it as I understood it gave extra features for connectivity - email, twitter etc... also better voice activation...

Hiya sorry to be so brief earlier but was waylaid. Touch and Go Plus you can only receive emails and texts you cannot send. You can surf the web but it goes through your phone account so be careful of your internet usage. When I ordered it for my vehicle the Sales Team were next to useless about what was provided with the Plus. I expected to be able to answer emails and texts through the voice control.

If I had known more about the Plus at the time I probably would not have bothered.

Go to Toyota Customer Portal and register. There are details of the touch & go system on there. You will need to download the Toyota Touch & Go Toolbox to your PC. You have to get the details of your car onto a memory stick via the USB port in the centre consul. When you have done this you put the memory stick into the USB port on the PC. Via the toolbox you can check for updates and download them onto the memory stick. There are instructions on portal on the correct procedure for updating the Touch & Go (I think). Update on the car using the memory stick in the USB port in the centre consul. It is an involved process and you have to be careful not to interrupt the update or it can muck up your touch & Go system. .

I did download and print the Touch & Go Guides. I have not updated my car touch & go system yet. I have not been too well and I was informed the last update was only for Finland. The actual car update can take ages and I have been informed it is best if the engine is running!! Hope this helps it is quite an involved procedure I think.

Sorry if I misunderstood I thought you had the Toyota Touch & Go Plus. I now realise you want to update your car to the Plus System. I do not know how you would do that.

Just a general comment, the reason you are required to keep the engine running (or system ready in the case of a Hybrid) is to defeat all the timeouts that are built in to the head units (when switched to accessory only position of the start up sequence) whilst the update is in progress so that it completes properly...

Thanks to everyone for your responses... I might have the opportunity to try the system without the upgrade to Plus as there are apparently still no details and i should be getting the Prius+ next week...

I'll update this thread with whatever happens, but from what I have read and seen the Plus upgrade doesn't seem to give you a whole lot more than already provided.

Not sure why your dealer is having issues the instructions & parts numbers exist, all they have to do is remove the Go navigation box and replace it with the Go Plus box, see:
