Not heard this but I think its offends some ethnic minorities.

I have two massive flags hanging in my bedroom window... England and Scotland.. they look cool.

If they are banned the cops are gonna have a big job stopping it, round here, every second car has an england flag and every pub has them.

Not been back home to scotland recently, are other uk countries flooded with flags?

The only time a country unites we get shot down.. there is nothing wrong with being proud of our nation.. things like this make me feel sad.

Saw a Mondeo estate today and it had 6 flags on it... slight overkill.

If ethnic minorities find our national flag offensive then I find the Jamaican flag offensive on cars, and sun strips saying “I love Kashmir” on them. Also the Pakistani flag on number plates/tax disc holders/stickers in windows, Sikh symbols on Mazda’s etc etc etc

A multi cultural society means having to live together and accepting other people’s views.

If people choose to live in this country then they accept this countries laws customs traditions and flags!

Try banning the stars and strips in the USA and see how far you get!

Just my 2 cents worth.

Do I feel a hornets nest stirring?

I can't believe that flying the english flag now equates to racism... LOL :D

"I think its offends some ethnic minorities." - if that's true, then it's just laughable. :D

and to quote morriseys new song - irish blood english heart....

"I've been dreaming of a time when to be English is not to be baneful, to be standing by the flag not feeling shameful, racist or partial"

Political Correctness gone mad.

I bet they wouldn't try to stop the Scots/Welsh flying their flags either!

Thats just daft - one or two is patriotic - five is just silly!

I've not bought any - not because I'm not proud to be English, but same as people choose to display it, I choose not to!

Its not racism at all, it is political correctness gone mad!

I'm proud to be British, but also proud that I live in a multi-culteral society - I dont mind people from other countries flying their flags or showing symbols of their faith but to stop British people from doing it and use ethnic minorities as an excuse, is just plain stupid IMHO

I think this may refer to one of the management of a northern chain of bars saying that none of its chain could fly the st george during euro 2004 as it would deter female customers, this was quickly withdrawn by the chain....

there is a similar ban in some pubs in Carlisle, due to the volume of Scottish visitors

Big news in the local paper recently was about a driver of the on-site bus not being allowed a george cross on the bus as he may offend the French people who work here!

I think it's political correctness gone mad!

i've not got a St Georges flag yet, but when i do God help anyone who either says i've got to remove it or tries to remove it themselves!

saying that, i could be tempted the change to a Union jack (all the UK flags would be overkill) and we are really the SAME country!

Who here says they are British, or do they say English, Scottish, Welsh, Northern Irish etc?

Andy. Proud to be British, (English really ;) )

what a load of crap! I'm not from the UK (tho i do have a british passport) but i cant see how on earth showing a flag could be offensive!!? especially a flag in its own country.

It's our country an we should be able to do exactly what we have been doing for years '****** the minorities!' Im not rascist etc but if i emigrated or moved abroad, i would expect to respect their beliefs and systems, and not try to impose my country's.

What is quite disrespectful is flying a flag not of the country's origins. I can make excuses for rugby/football and events alike, but c'mon.

(Plus driving around with a flag when theres not even an occaisoin is just sad!)
