Hi,i have a late 2003 xt3 manual, petrol version, after cleaning the inside of the car,the air bag light suddenly came on,and stays on,i have a feeling the wires underneath the seat, were catching on the runners, ive checked for splits in the wire, but have found nothing,so was wondering if there is anywhere else i should be looking,or what to do next, thanks in advance.

Hi Lee,welcome to the club.

You say the wire have been checked for splits and cracks so how about the connectors, are they snapped tight together ?

As this is a safety issue it might mean a trip to an auto electrician

If you have an OBD reader, it might be worth checking to see if any faults are lodged relating to this and then clear them to see if they recur.

It may have been a glitch but if it returns then best to get it checked professionally. You can't afford to mess with the SRS bits.

Hi del,thanks for the welcome

I have checked wires and connections properly, but cant see anything, everything is tight,so i think on your advice,i will get it checked out, just to be safe,as i said before,it was fine until i cleaned the car, moved the seat back a few times, the light appeared,so first thing i checked, was the wiring underneath, and could see it had dropped, and was catching on the runner, which made me think,it was that.

Cant complain,as only owning the car for the last 11 months, this is the only thing that has ever gone wrong(touch wood)thanks again for all your help, ill post the outcome when i find out,for future references, cheers lee.
