Eu Fuel Consumption Tests - Worst Performers

The Honest John website have compiled a list from their Real MPG data, which shows the 50 worst performing car ranges when comparing real fuel economy with the official EU consumption figures.

Worst 10 are:

1. Nissan Note (68% of EU consumption)

2. Mini hatch (68%)

3. Citroen DS5 (71%)

4. Renault Captur (71%)

5. Ford Fiesta (71%)

6. Range Rover Evoque (71%)

7. BMW X6 (71%)

8. Kia Picanto (73%)

9. Opel/Vauxhall Astra Sport Tourer (74%)

10. Audi A1 (74%).

Lexus had two model ranges in the worst 50 - @ number 14 the Lexus CT200h (75%), and @ number 20 the Lexus RX450h (75%).

Toyota also had two model ranges in the 50 - @ number 40 the Auris, and @ number 43 the Yaris (both at 77%).

Interesting, did Toyota Hybrids get better results? I assume you mean standard Auris and not the HSD? Red.

No, its the range - so the Auris and Yaris ranges include the petrol, diesel and hybrid.

With the Auris and Yaris ranges, the HJ Real MPG pages show that owners of the 1.33 petrols get closer to the EU figures than either hybrid -

Auris Hybrid - 78% of the EU consumption figures

Auris 1.33 - 92%

Yaris Hybrid - 76%

Yaris 1.33 - 93%.

Of course this isn't saying the 1.33's are more economical - they're not.
