Gen7 Emptying Coolant

Hi all,

My Gen7 has recently developed an issue.

It started to blow cold air so I checked the coolant levels which were low, so topped them up.

It was full then a day or two later it blew cold again so I've topped up a second time. I did notice a leak of sorts but thought this might be from me missing the top !

Anyway, it now is blowing warm air when driving but cold when idle but the temp gauge stays within normal levels.

Any idea what/if this is a common problem? I've gone through umpteen pages to try and find something. Just wondered if it's a common radiator failure/water pump or worse.

Thanks.

Radiators usually go on the bottom corners, you will have to check as there is no point in looking for coolant under the car as it usually collects on the undertrays.

I think the radiators cost about £50 new off eBay, don't get a second hand one as you don't know how long it will last.

+1 for the radiator...common-ish failure and the most likely cause.

On renewal/replacement, the biggest headache is making sure that the system is bled correctly and that there are no air locks..!

Follow the instructions you'll find on the underside of your bonnet lid.!
