hi everyone. I am a new member. I don't currently own a toyota (currently have a 2007 mitsubishi lancer glx) but hopefully in a few weeks time when I finish my exams I am going to buy an Auris. I'm hoping to buy it from Italy and import it to my home country (Libya). I was wondering if there are garages in italy that can check if the car has been stolen, damaged/repainted and other stuff like that. Also can I fit 17" rims without making any modifications to the wheel arches?

any help is much appreciated.

Certain models of the Auris come with 17 inch wheels as standard so shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't go above a 9 inch width and fit the right size tires so the Speedo stays accurate .... You would be good to use the internet to check for accidents stolen colour changes etc if it's declared and will probably cost next to nothing to check for a repaint just look on the small corners under the bonnet behing interior trim will show if it was ever another colour

Thanks smudge-1991. also thinking about changing the discs and pads to Brembo items since I hear about alot of complaints about oem stuff. any thoughts?

The brakes are good as standard the one issue we have all had is that the brake dust covers your wheels pretty quickly also you might struggle for Brembo stuff as an upgrade most seem to use mtec discs and pads or mintex pads or black diamond pads as an upgrade

using the Brembo catalogue managed to find front and rear discs and pads fo about €300.

Ye I could find them on the catalogue but only find oem replacement ones from Brembo online rather than an upgrade it depends what you want whether it's an upgrade or just a replacement

Well I know the brembos are good as a direct replacement but I would just save the money and buy Toyota kit as it will probably be less ... And performs very well anyway
