Tail Light Bulbs

After some digging round for a few days on here I am still undecided on what bulb type my tail lights are and wondered what type they are as I intend to change to led on them and want to know what type the actually are and the wattage ....

I drive a mk1 Auris pre facelift ...

I would take the bulb out and check but it's dark and thought someone on here might know before I try and get my hand in a tiny hole to take a bulb out look at it and then refit it all only to take it out and swap in the led

On my post facelift Auris they are 5W 501 bulbs.

When looking at Osram LED bulbs on Amazon there is a warning in the product description stating that 'LED bulbs are not currently road legal in the UK for the exterior of the vehicle and thus do not comply with ECE Reg 37.'

It think th facelift got matching bulbs for most applications but I can see that the pre facelift Auris looks like a bayonet type

Check them out here. I have described all types in my post. I don't suggest LEDs however because they are red so colour will be different compared to what you have now. Also they won't match with your 3rd brake light colour. If you'll change blinker bulbs they will blink faster unless you add resistors. Only ones I would suggest to change is the reverse lights. Make sure the bulb will spread the light properly also.

I was gonna get white ones as I put one in a brake light and was a good match so as long as I look carefully at the right led so get a good coverage / spread the reverse light is also to do when I'm paid in a couple of days
