2005 Toyota Avensis Transmission Swap U241 T0 U250

Hi fellows,

Need a help over here.

Has anyone change there automatic transmission from 4 speed to 5 speed.

Code for 4 speed is U241 and i have now a U250

What came with the car and says on the chassis tag, Trans: U241E BUT on the transmission self it has the number U250

So i bought on from a Scion wich uses the same code but on the transmission it says u250 but it is a 5 speed

My engine is a 1AZ-FE and the scion's engine is 2AZ-FE

I know nit fits perfectly in the car BUT will it give me computer problems due to now it is a 5 speed???

Your gearbox exchange is very unusual. Normal changes are manual gearboxes.

Your question regarding the electronics needs experts.

All I can say is are all the cable connections the same? Do the ECUs use the same protocols so the gearbox works with the engine?

If the gearbox is fitted and the electronic connections are compatible, you can only test how it works.
