Auris Hybrid For 30,000 A Yr Company Car?

Hi All,

I've just been offered a new job  which gives me a car allowance instead of an actual company car.

I've always liked the Auris Hybrid's and thinking of possibly getting one, the job would entail 20,000 to 30,000 miles a year.

I was thinking of an Icon plus.

I would be paid 18p per mile so i am sure i would make my money back of fuel, my concern is around servicing.

Do Toyota do servicing packs? As i believe they need servicing around every 10,000 miles?

Any help would be appreciated

Chris

Toyota don't do servicing packs as such - like Hyundai, etc. However most dealers will do service plans which you can pay up front or per month (at no extra charge). Service plans can be negotiated with the dealer and can be based on Toyota's Fixed Price servicing which is quite competitive - see http://www.toyota.co.uk/service-and-maintenance/car-servicing

In addition to the intermediate or full services, a brake fluid change will be required every 2 years - see the Maintenance Options on the above page.

For example I negotiated my current service plan using the Fixed Price Servicing scheme - covers me for 3 years/3 services and cost about £450

Servicing is every 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Have a chat with your dealer.

Just make sure they use 0w20 oil in a service plan (many try to use the cheaper 5w30 oil in plans) otherwise your top end fuel economy will bomb,

Servicing is usually fixed price and many dealers offer discounts on service plan prices. Failing that, many dealers will consider price matching too. If you're doing 30k a year, they'll be your friend.

I just switched to a 3 year service plan, costing £16/month (but over 32 months = £512). By my calculations I'll save 30% over the period. I also get free MOTs (though I was getting this anyway) and free brake fluid changes. If I cancel I can get a refund on unused months less a £25 admin fee. You can also pay the whole amount upfront by credit card (which I considered in order to get clubcard points, etc). I asked if they would use the correct oil, and this was confirmed (though I always remind them every time I book the service and check the paperwork afterwards). No brainier as far as I was concerned!

I got 3 years servicing included when I bought my hybrid.

Go in at the end of the month. They'll take your arm off for a deal.

I got 3 free services when I brought my Auris. Try haggling them down, end of the month like last poster said and about 30 mins before closing time :P

Too obvious. Make it an hour but arrive a little late, get a coffee in, insist that they look round your car for a trade in and THEN screw them :)

Works a treat.

Auris Hybrid should be great for 20 to 30 K a year/ I do 19K in a Yaris HSD and thats a breeze. Service every nine months always get a courtesy Yaris and yes I have a service plan too. Obviously I'm not as good a negotiator as you lot. :blow: Mine costs £41 a month. Covers me to 50K miles.
