hi

2004 d4d avensis t2 tourer

the problem is the luggage compartment door lock, does not unlock ,

the remaining doors lock and unlock with out any problem,

there is no power to the connecter at the door lock, power is available for the compartment light at the connecter.

Does anyone know if the estate boot lock has a separate power supply from the passenger doors as the 25 amp door fuse is ok.

or has anyone had a similar problem any help appreciated..

The actuator which clips onto the lock mechanism usually has a three core feed. If it locks but fails to unlock (or vice versa) the fault will be a failed/burned out track within the actuator module. A curcuit tester will confirm.

I can't specifically comment on the Avensis but this is the case on other Toyotas.

A while ago I had a problem with a door lock (it wasn't a Toyota and I can't remember what it was tho). It turned out it worked by a pulse of power when locked/unlocked, not a constant feed. Maybe verify whether you get a pulse of power while locking/unlocking before ripping the wiring apart?
