Hi,

I have an automatic Aygo and have had some issues with the gears not selecting, specifically when I stop. I drove my car yesterday to the town, roughly about a mile and I started to lose power but had the revs!! I am not sure what the problem is but am thinking this could be the automatic clutch that has failed.

I am booked into the dealer tomorrow to have them take a look at it, I am with a recovery company but dont have home start and I am concerned that if I try to drive it the 5 miles it needs to go, over revving, I will do more damage than good. In order for me to call the recovery company I need to be atleast a quarter of a mile away. My question is, can I tow it in N for the quarter of a mile without damaging my car further?

Thanks

I believe that is not a good idea to tow an auto car, Would you not damage the torque convertor more by doing so as there may be a chance of pushing to oil inside it the wrong way?

The Aygo uses the Multi Mode Transmission, which is a manual gearbox with an automated clutch - so no torque convertor. Not sure whether it can be towed though.

Thanks for the replies.

Are the clutches expensive?

Thanks
