Hi all,

My 2005 Corolla Verso 2.0 D4D got the MIL on. I scanned the DTCs and code P1249 came up.

I can't really find much info about this code. Any ideas what it is?

Thanks in advance

Are you sure its P1249 and not C1249?

Yes, P1249 for sure :disgust:

Strange as P1249 doesn't exist in Toyota's diagnostic code chart but C1249 does and relates to a fault in the Brake light switch or switch circuit and is usually caused by a blown brake light bulb or faulty brake pedal switch.

Well I've read the codes twice and I swear it said P1249.

When it comes on again I will double check :dontgetit:

Hi again,

So I bought a Delphi scan tool and it shows a different code... It is a P1251 - Turbo Regulator.

I pulled out the E-VRV (VACUUM REGULATING VALVE) today.
Checked the continuity with an ohm meter as specified in the Toyota repair manuals. All the numbers are good, the only thing is it looks like one of the ports is snapped off.
Here's a photo how a good one should look:

Here's how mine looks:

As you see the little cup thing is missing. I am not sure if this would cause a P1251 appearing, however I was looking at a used replacement on eBay and it was also broken exactly like mine is :(
