hi all first post, i have a 2008 yaris 1.3, my problem is the engine light is on and got it check out and it shows that it is the cam and crank sensor are not in sync with each other, the car is driving & sounds ok as there is only 29000 miles on it, does it need a new timing chain or would a new timing chain tensioner cure this, anybody any ideas what this problem is, many thanks toppo123

I am guessing the fault code was P0016? if so then a new modified timing chain is required part number 13506-23020

thanks lee, that is right P0016, would I be better replacing chain & tensioner at the same time and buy them from a Toyota garage

The tensioners should be fine on such a low mileage car, as for the chain Toyota improved the design to prevent further issues something that non-genuine suppliers would not be aware of.
