New Engine Fitted

I just bought a 2007 RAV 2.2 diesel. 67K miles Full Toyota service history. 7k miles ago it had new engine fitted due to the water pump failing. In the paperwork with the car are all the receipts for the servicing etc along with the service book. The receipt says a new engine was fitted and a large chunk of the bill was paid by Toyota the rest by the then owner.

I'm wondering if they changed the cam belt and serpentine belt at the same time as I can't see it mentioned on any of the servicing receipts. Everything else is there from oil to windscreen wipers, disc pads to types etc.

Do you think the new engine would have been fitted with new belts or I should get them changed PDQ?

The 2.2 (2 AD Engine) is chain driven. The serpentine belt would not ordinarily be changed, probably best to change it if there is no mention of it having been done

Excellent, I thought it was chain drive (like my Vito and Smart Roadster). Is there any way of finding out the exact model I have using the Reg. number?
