Help And Advice Please

I crawled under the rear of my 1998 Rav today to check the conditionof the Shocks, which look clean and Ok! but what I did find was the Black Hard Cone which sits up inside the Coil spring was loose and laying on its side at the bottom of the springs. Is this a problem which I should sort out ASAP? or can it wait?

I did post a topic regarding my shocks and complained about a general feeling of looseness at the rear end and sometimes a knocking noise. Could this cone be the sound I hear?

If the shocks look OK, does that mean they are OK. There is no leak from either of them.

Any help or advice would be really welcome.

That will be the bump stop I would imagine, yes it should be replaced

I did reply about the knocking, it is probably the diff mount

Hi Parts King,

Thanks for your replies.

The reason I was crawling under the car today was to try and locate the Diff Mount that you told me about. Can you explain where exactly it is and what it looks like? And is it a job I can carry out on the drive of my house?

Cheers
