2003 Celica Aftermarket Stereo Strange Behavior

Hi Everyone,

I've installed an aftermarket stereo "Xtrons td715" (a budget media system)

It all installed ok and worked fine, or so I thought :(

If you just put on the ignition it works great, however if you put the engine on the stereo comes on but there is no sound?

There is sound but only when the engine is not running... ?

Has any one got any Ideas, I'm Stumped?

Thanks in advance!

Scott

Hello scott, I was just wondering if you got this problem sorted? i am looking at getting an xtrons (see the eBay link), also what kinda surround did you have to get to make the stereo fit? Thanks in advance.

is it a stand alone unit or is there any external amp?

the only thing I can think of off the top of my head at the moment is a polarity switch of voltage when the engine is running

is it a plug and play?

or is wiring a bit wrong e.g the power supply to an external amp is fed from the ignition warning light circuit or similar

i.e the Battery light on the dash that comes on at ignition but switches polarity to turn off when the alternator excites
