Headunit

Hi guys,

New to the toyota forum. I have a question about the headunits compatability across models.

My wife drives a 2002 model Rav4 cruiser - she has a stock headunit and were sick of burning cds so are wanting to upgrade. Just happens a guy in my area is selling a nice one out of his 2012 corolla.

He is confident that it will fit but I am not sure.

Anybody know?

Cheers

If you don't want to use CD's how about adding an iPod connection ?

A high grade 2012 Corolla will have an integrated head unit specific to the Corolla, lower grade units are standard double din which would fit into your Rav but will require at least a fascia adapter to make it fit, you may have to rewire as well and you will loose the trip functions which display on your current radio.

I think we might just get another fm transmitter, sounds like it wont be a straight swap over. Our old transmitter died hence why looking for an upgrade but partner is not keen for the fuss of stuffing around.
