Hi all, my sister has recently bought a freshly imported Noah on a 2003 plate. As lovely as the car is it speaks to her in Japanese when she starts it, the sat nav is japanese and the CD player will not read discs. My question is can this be sorted with an updated European sat nav disc because I would like to get her one if so.. Many thanks..

Think you will need to replace the head unit.

Thanks mate.. Is that for the sat nav aswell? is there not a European disc that would work in it?

The Toyota update site for the EU requires you to identify the car model, and the mapping updates are quite expensive - http://www.toyota-mapupdates.eu/

You need to identify whether the sat nav model in your sister's Noah is also used in an EU market car. So what sat nav model does the Noah have (usually stated on the front of the unit). Even then there is no guarantee the Noah unit uses the same mapping as EU market vehicles.

Another alternative would be to contact companies that supply parts for the Noah and ask the question of them.

Which is why I suggest a new unit may be the best option.
