Husky Pup Chewed 3 Seat Belts - 2012 2.2

hi our recently rescued husky pup (we have 3) decided to do a demolition job on our cars - he completely trashed the rear seat of my wifes 2012 avensis (a previous post) & my son just discovered today that he has chewed the front passenger & 2 rear seat belt body straps on his 2012 2.2.

can anyone please advise if these belts have pretentioners & if so where they are?

also are there any companies that can replace the damaged straps.

to be honest at the moment i'm scared to enquire from the dealer after the avensis episode.

cheers

A web search revealed these companies who can replace the webbing (straps) on seat belts:

http://www.seatbeltservices.co.uk/index.html

http://www.fdts-seatbelts.co.uk

many thanks - have you any idea about the pretensioners?

Usually cars are fitted with pre-tensioners for the driver and front passenger, as they act in conjunction with the front airbags to restrain the people in the front. Depending on the age of the car, and type of pre-tensioner they could be either in the B pillar or on the buckle side of the seat belt - think in recent cars they tend to be on the buckle side of the seat.

For info the Euro NCAP test of the 2013 Rav 4 listed the safety equipment on page 4 of the downloadable pdf from the following link - and just front seat belt pre-tensioners were fitted: http://www.euroncap.com/results/toyota/rav4/514.aspx
