2007 Rav4 Chrome Grille

Hello Rav4 owners. Hoping you can offer some advice.

I recently had a minor front end prang which required my car to go into the bodyshop. My RAV4 had the manufacturer bumper guard and chrome grille guard on the car from new. The bumper guard has been replaced but they have only added the black grille and tell me the chrome part (which I think sits over and fits onto the black grille) is no longer available. Do you know if this is correct and if not where I can source one? Would they need to change the black grill to a different one so the chrome grille slots on?

What is really annoying is that the chrome grille was not even damaged so I do not know why they replaced it. I took pictures of the front end to prove this and am going to speak to the bodyshop at the weekend so any advice or idea of where I can source one would be appreciated.

I did see this topic raised in 2008 on here and suspect the part is indeed hard to source.

Try your local car breakers if you have one! They will just need the model you have and the year of manufacture.

Take a look on eBay, ive seen used grill with trim and just the chrome parts being sold new....although you may have to buy from Europe :)
