Touch And Go Plus

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone else has come across the same problem as me with their Touch and Go Plus.It used to work fine showing all my contacts and messages, but for some reason this weekend it would show the messages for a fraction of a second then I get the message please wait with the spinning blue disk, it's the same with the contacts.I know it is still paired with my phone because I can make calls from the car and listen to music from the phone.

Since my Prius TSpirit is only two years old it is still under warrenty, but I was hoping that someone could come up with a simple fix, or tell me that I am doing something wrong. :disgust:

Thanks for taking the time to read this rather long post, I will try again searching on previous posts to see if anyone else has come across this problem.

Probably a long shot but have you tried completely rebooting your phone to force the bluetooth drivers on the phone to reload? (by that I mean a complete power off and/or Battery out if possible) Sometimes the phone's BT drivers can get their "knickers in a twist" and only partially work properly... Just turning BT off then on again doesn't always fix the problem.

Thanks for the reply Colin, yes I did try rebooting the phone and unfortunately it didn't work.Maybe I should try unpairing it then reconnecting it again, might work. :ermm:

Try this, 1st delete your phone from the T&G list then switch off the car. Make sure the phone is on already then switch on the car and pair and connect the phone again. Then make sure the phone is on before you start the car each time.

Although not Touch and Go, I have to do this with my head unit otherwise the bluetooth doesn't automatically link up.

Thanks all for your replies, I will try all suggestions. It just occured to me that I had it serviced last week maybe they did something that changed the settings, I will try from scratch again as per your suggestion kithmo.

If I switch my phone on after the car it pairs for phone and music and starts playing music from the phone (it's a Windows phone thing), if I turn the phone on before the car then it pairs for both but doesn't go into music mode.

Thanks again for your suggestions everyone, I have tried them all and unpaired/paired the phone three times, checked the settings on the phone and I still can't access the messages or phonebook from the Touch and Go as I used to be able to.I think that it might be a trip to the dealership. :dontgetit: .

Hi Colin,

I have had the same phone for two years(Samsung Galaxy S3) and it worked fine until a couple of weeks ago.

Had you by any chance updated the car's software (via USB stick) around that time, or had a visit to a dealer where they may have done a software update?

Oh right. It looks like the fickle finger of fate is pointing at the head unit now then but it's still puzzling that just one feature stops working and rest are ok...

Pete, yes I went to the dealer two weeks ago but that was just for a service and hybrid check.

Colin don't say the head unit,This is my fourth Prius and I have never had anything serious wrong, but as Colin said it is puzzling that some features work and not others.

If the problem first appeared just after your service, I'd be wondering if they did an update to the car's software, and the update has introduced some incompatibility to your phone.

If the dates tie in, might be worth asking your dealer if they did an update at the service (I think they do occasionally).

Whilst this may not solve your problem (if they did), it may at least explain it.

Usually if something stops working, either something has broken or something has changed. I always look for what's changed first.

My neighbour recently bought a newer phone, and found that though the old model paired with the Auris perfectly, the new one won't at all!

Well as I was leaving work on Friday I thought that I would pop into the dealership as I pass it on the way.Whilst waiting in a traffic jam I thought that I would try it again, and it worked and I now have access to messages and contacts again, I have tried it several times over the weekend and it worked every time.

So I don't know what the problem was, but thanks to everyone that took the trouble to reply with their suggestions.
