Hi

I'm getting the slightest hang/flat-spot going up the gears at approximately the 2250rev mark at each change, it disappears once through that band of RPM, any suggestions please.

ill start off with a suggestion

is it a diesel

sounds like egr starting to clog and being lazy

if its stuck open when turbo spins up your boost diverts back through the egr into exhaust rather than the egr holding a seal to pressurise the manifold/inlet

Good start.

here is two links on how to do it your self.

after cleaning I would look at changing the air filter unless relatively new and fuel filter

clean the air flow sensor.

check if the two boost pipes at the inter cooler are nice and tight and no splits

same again with all the small vacuum pipes.

I'd try 250ml of 2 stroke (mineral) in a tankful of diesel and hit the motorway, see if it cures your problem.

Is it possible to blank the egr off on a toyota diesel? I blanked the egr off on a old ford transit truck I had years ago and it drove much better.

Thanks to all, looks like the EGR is a good place to start, cheers.
