Gt4 (St205) Complete Loss Of Power On Acceleration

Hi everyone,

1999 Celica GT4 under 100k. Any gear under hard acceleration the engine literally cuts itself to nothing. Then, depending on the circumstance it has no response or power for 1 to 4 seconds.

I can be pulling from a standing start and the car pulls hard and then DEAD and then back to life, and then DEAD again or if Im on the hiway / dual carriageway, go to speed up, it dies as if I turned the key off, then, release the pedal, it comes back to life.

Becoming consistent problem :-(

Just had gearbox out for a damaged 2nd gear selector fork. Mechanic just put back together and now this.

It feels like an ECU safety cut. It has that 'sharp' and sudden deadness before coming back to life.

Idles smooth. Starts great. Had the fuel pump changed in Japan before I shipped it to Canada. No aftermarket engine mods. All stock.

Only happened since it was in the shop. Im thinking leaky vacuum pipe, boost pipe, ..

HELP!
