hello peeps..

i am a diehard toyota fan and i have just bought a 2012 avensis luna. on the way home from the dealer and tried the satnav. got error msg. service not available.... called dealer and was told that even though its luna model with reversing camera ect not all luna models have satnav. he said he can fit it but will cost 1200 euro. i was wondering is there any other way around this as the hardware is there i just need the software.

I Suspect you have Toyota touch installed, to add sat nav you do need some hardware by way of a sat nav kit (docs attached,) you will have the choice of "Go" or the more expensive "Go+" navigation

Luna is a RoI trim so we won't be too familiar with what it comes with. I think that as D.A. says that no. is a Touch non-Go unit. The extra hardware extension unit iirc for Go is ~£600 & then you need to add fitting & the gps aerial. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Toyota-Touch-And-Go-Sat-Nav-Unit-PZ490-00331-D0-/360844668906?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item540404afea

Think about spending £150 on a Garmin/Tomtom with "lifetime" free updates instead (Toyota map updates are ~£150).

had a wee look at the useful pdf

your looking at the kit with the gps antenna different wiring looms and a module of some sort probably with the maps on it.

how difficult is it going to be to get hold of all these parts other than buying from Toyota?

I have a 2012 with Go Plus - it's really not that great so you are not missing much.
