4.1 Replacement Fuel Tank

Hi all, was just wanting to pick members brains as I need a new oem tank for my RAV4.1

I tried a few breakers here in N.ireland but tanks are as rotten as my own. On anything I've sourced. I also tried breakers online but by the time I pay postage etc and take a chance on it I figured I might be better off biting the bullet and going for a new one. I sourced a oem tank but it's £180+£40 postage.

Has anybody else sourced one any cheaper?. Any thoughts or recommendations greatly appreciated.

Just to add also sourced one at eurocarparts for £270 + postage.

Hi.

Personally i'd just buy a new one as due to the age of any 2nd hand tank it going to be rusty especially around the filler neck area so it could be troublesome to get a good seal where it joins the rubber hose.

Thanks Mike, I have settled for a new one as the only option. Had the tank out before Christmas, replaced any metal and rubber pipes which were perished/rotten. I think I have most of the seals which I got along with the new parts. I done enough to get it through the test but tank started to leak again a few days later in another point when It pressurised.

I think a very wise decision mate on getting a quote from Kingo, you might want to get a price for the rubber hose that connects to it as well as from experience they are often distorted and perished witht the amount of rust that flakes off inside them, oh and a couple of clips as well, the jubilee type of again i would get Toyota original ones.

Thanks Mike, I replaced my rubber pipe 2 years ago as it came with a second hand replacement filler pipe as mine was rotten. The rubber pipe on the end of the replacement filler was perfect. I will check again if I need anything else if I deal with kingo
