My Avensis 2007 47k miles has developed what can only be described as a vibrating air box. At certain revs, around 12-1400 it set the air box vibrating like it was resonating at that frequency. Are the mountings rubber ? ive no idea anyone care to speculate ? cheers, Del

is it actually the air filter housing itself vibrating? The seals for the pipes are foam & prone to perishing which leads to a noise at the sort of revs that you are talking about. repair/replace those (I don't think that you can buy them as spare parts - you'll need to make them yourself).

Took me 5 mins to sort it. Didnt remove airbox no need to. Drill small pilot hole down through airbox and pipe from the inside of airbox and fit a fat self tapper and hey presto....just like new lol.
