Coolant Low - Help!

I've just been doing my regular checks (which I haven't done for a few months :blushing: ) and discovered the coolant level is below the low mark (approx 7-10 mm below it) for my 2011 1.8 V-Matic (CVT).

What's worse is I've just had a family holiday with lots of driving, and have no idea how long it's been low.

So - am I likely to have caused any damage?

Also, I'd never noticed before, but it's pink, which I assume is something I can only get at the Toyota garage. Is it just the kind of thing you can pop in to Toyota to buy (and any ideas of likely cost)?

Is refilling just a case of taking off the reservoir cap and pouring in to the full line?

Apologies if these are really basic questions! In 15 years of motoring I don't think I've ever experienced the coolant go low.

Haha no problem. You can buy coolant from anywhere, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Halfords etc. Just make sure that the colours match, so the current colour you say that you have is pink, make sure the one you buy is pink too. Don't mix pink with blue or similar. They cost around £8 for small bottles or about £11 for big bottles. You can go get some from Toyota too, it would be better as it would probably match the colour you have inside at the moment, expect to pay similar prices. As for damage, not much as long as you dident see your car temperature level rising on the dashboard.

Any visible signs of leaks?

I haven't noticed anything, though wouldn't know where to look (other than on the drive!). I guess I'll need to top it up and keep a keen eye on the levels over the next few weeks.
