Dont really want to let my car go... he is selling an n/a that was converted to a turbo thru Fensport.

He says that the insurance is cheaper than if you were to go out and buy a turbo?

The conversion is alot cheaper than I thought too!

conversion isn't cheap mate... you might as well get a Turbo car.

Is he on about a complete engine transplant ?

I've heard that insurance is more than if it was already a Turbo car.

I checked it out too, got a couple of quotes and it is cheaper with some companies to insure the conversion than to insure a standard tubby. And it's the only way to go if you've spent a s**tload of money on your N/A getting it to look the way you want.

I've heard both .. some companies frown on engine swaps, other frown on imports ..

Ya pays your money, you makes your choice ..

Insurance aside. Some conversions go very well and others don't. I know a guy who did a tubby transplant (professionally) and his car has spent more time off the road than on. Then again I also know someone else who has done a few of them and has never had any problems (other than basic teething).

are you considerin it too jappy?

dammit looks like the turbo fevers hittin us n/a drivers!

i'd always thought conversions cost more as companies saw it as a modification, and a major one at that...

Not with all the problems you have had with it...

I'm getting a rev3 engine if I do.

Jimlad, I didnt say it was cheap, just cheaper than I thought. My MR2 is staying with me as long as I can keep her.. I would rather put up the dollars in a turbo conversion than buying a Supra TT (like I was gonna do).

I'm gonna go with looks this summer and then power next summer.

I've not had any issues with my engine.. only a funny idle thing.

Think it is electrical/sensor issue anyway as it hasn't happened again.
