Brake Test For M O T

hi all, took the rav 4-3 for the m o t and the guy put in on the brake machine, now I always thought you should not do this as it could damage the rear drive clutch, when I queried this he said it only applied to permanent 4 wheel drive motors, can anyone confirm this, thank in advance.

Hi George,

Just having a look around the web the general consensus is that the 4.3 and the 4.4 can be tested on the rollers if the VSC has been disabled by holding the button down (did your tester do this ?) my friend who MOT`s my 4.2 never puts it on the rollers and always takes it for a road test.

cheers for that Colin, no idea about the vsc button, I don't know about it myself, just hope he got it right.
