Rav4 Radio Aerial Connection

Need to change my factory fit radio with a newer Toyota radio but the aerial connection in the new radio is different.

The old radio has a round socket to take a standard male aerial plug. (see picture one) post-73339-0-75655100-1426781433_thumb.j

The newer radio has a rectangular socket to take a rectangular male plug (picture 2) post-73339-0-26471500-1426781450_thumb.j

Anyone any idea if there is a simple connector available to make the job simple?

What audio unit did you buy, the connector looks like the new amplified antenna type used on current models?

It's a Panasonic 53831 ref 86120 - 42280. Yes from a recent Rav4 when the previous owner changed the unit for a dvd / sat nav model.

Single cd model. I had a 6 cd model and wanted to fit a Connects2 unit using the cd socket. The Connects2 system does not work with the 6 cd changer unit.

Part number PZ457-00260-00 from your local Toyota dealer should convert from the earlier round plug to the later square plug
