X-Touch Startup Screen Customisation

I don't know if this has been covered elsewhere, but here goes:

To change the "splash screen" on the X-Touch unit, first produce an image of your choice in jpeg format, anything you like. I found that a size of 1280x720 pixels worked fine.

Name the image whatever you like up to 32 characters - e.g. myscreen.jpg - you can make up to 3 different ones at once.

On an EMPTY flash drive, create a folder named "StartupImage" (Case sensitive) - this won't work with any other folder.

Save the image(s) into this folder.

Put the flash drive into the USB port below the X-touch screen and turn on the ignition to Accessory

Press the lower button on the right to bring up the main screen where you will find all the options.

Touch "Settings", then "General".

Amongst the options is "Customize Startup Image" - touch that, then you see the four available images. The first is the "default" screen, so there are three more available slots. Touch "Transfer" then "Yes", and the image(s) you have prepared will be uploaded from the flash drive.

When that has been done, they will be seen in thumbnails on the screen. Select the one you want and touch "OK"

Turn off, then on again, and your new screen will be displayed. You don't have to have the flash drive inserted any more - the images will remain in the system.

To change them later, just make and save new pictures and go through the process again - they will overwrite the first ones.

Attached are the screens I've made for mine!

This is great. My Daughter got married last week so my start up screen will be the Bride and Groom.

Thanks a bunch for this, I was trying all the file types there are in order to make this work, but I did not know about having to make a new, "Startupimage" folder.

I have found out though that you do not need an empty USB stick, just make sure that the, "Startupimage" folder is in the root of the file system and it will work perfectly.
